Biography

Somchai Wongwises received the Dr.Ing. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Hannover, Hannover, Germany, in 1994. He is currently a Professor of mechanical engineering with the Faculty of Engineering, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Bangkok, Thailand, where he is also the Head of the Fluid Mechanics, Thermal Engineering, and Multiphase Flow Research Laboratory (FUTURE). His current research interests include gas–liquid two-phase flow, heat transfer enhancement, and thermal system design.

Biography

Prof. Ir. Dr. CHONG Wen Tong is currently a full professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Universiti Malaya (UM), Malaysia. He is also the Head of UM Centre for Energy Sciences. He is a Chartered Engineer registered by the Engineering Council (UK) since 2014. His research interests are Renewable Energy & Green Technology, Industrial Aerodynamics and Innovative Product Design. He was selected for the 2019 Top Research Scientists Malaysia by the Academy of Sciences Malaysia, and 2020, 2021 & 2022 World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University. Dr. Chong won the First Prize of National-Intellectual-Property-Award 2016 and WIPO Medal for his invention, Cross-Axis-Wind-Turbine which his team is collaborating with PETRONAS to commercialize it.

Biography

Ashwani Gupta is a Distinguished University Professor at the University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland, USA. He served as international consultant to the Japanese government (METI) for the development of High Temperature Air Combustion (called HiTAC) technology with Green color flame that is now used worldwide in industrial processes. He is Honorary Fellow of ASME and RAeS (UK), and Fellow of AIAA, AAAS, and SAE. He is co-editor of Environmental and Energy Science book series by CRC Press, Editor-in-Chief of Intl. J. Energy for Clean Environment, and Associate editor of 4 journals. He served as Director of Propulsion and Energy group and also on the Board of Directors at AIAA. He has received several national honors and best paper awards from AIAA, ASME, and The University of Maryland President Kirwan award, and College of engineering research award. He received his PhD from the University of Sheffield, and bestowed with 2 higher doctorates (DSc), and 3 Honorary doctorates. He has published over 825 technical papers, 3 books and 18 edited books.

Biography

Michael Raber began his professional career for Landis & Gyr Switzerland, the leading provider for energy measurement and smart metering solutions as the Head of the Measuring and Material Laboratories. He moved to Asia in 2000 to lead the set-up of Landis & Gyr’s first production, and subsequently its local Centre of Competence in China. In 2008, he joined 3S Swiss Solar Systems, a technology leader in manufacturing and testing equipment for solar panels and as the General Manager Asia Pacific, to build up its regional sales and service network. Since October 1990, he is working as the Continental Head Kistler APAC, reporting to the CEO of the Kistler Group, Mr. Rolf Sonderegger.

Michael is member of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, and the German Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai.

Biography

Dr. Yueh-Han Fei is currently the RD manager of Kruger Ventilation Asia; he received his Ph.D. degree from National Taiwan University in 2017. Before joining Kruger Ventilation, his research topics include biomimetics, bio-inspiration, and aerodynamic of insect/animal flight. Dr. Yueh-Han Fei now leads the product research and development team of Kruger Ventilation, and is successful in developing several ventilation products.
